Hot in the City

This is about the life of Miss Mo, a 30-something gal who recently moved back to Singapore from the US.

Back to PU

It's been maybe a year since I last was at Pulau Ubin. I really enjoyed riding the bike there the last time. I have been having difficulty finding company to go there. So I was so happy when Muy Caliente agreed to go there with me!

PU is so rustic and the island is big enough that it is not crowded. It's only a five minute boat ride from Changi Village, which itself is nice too. I hope to check out the Cantina restaurant at the Changi Village Hotel (formerly known as Le Meridien).

We arrived on the island around 1pm. We rented our bikes and then started our bike journey round the island. Muy Caliente has spent a couple of years in West Africa planting trees so he was very familiar with the plants surrounding us. We took uncharted routes, which always led us to the sea. We also went into the prohibited state land and found a group of fishermen, quietly fishing in the pond. Finally, at 5pm, after too much biking, we had dinner at the restaurant by the jetty. It was a luxury to be sitting there having an ice cold beer and just looking out to the waters. Very soothing too as we watched the sky turned red as the sun set.

After dinner, we rode a little more before we returned out bikes. We took the bumboat back to the mainland. A tiring Saturday, no doubt but a fulfilling one.
