Hot in the City

This is about the life of Miss Mo, a 30-something gal who recently moved back to Singapore from the US.

My busy yet normal Sunday

I didn't really do anything special today but just did some touristy things and revisited some places I haven't been for the longest time.

I played tennis for a couple of hours this morning. It was a good rally with a couple of guys. Then I cooled down, took a shower and rushed down to Hard Rock Cafe to meet up with Muy Caliente.

I have been craving for Pulled Pork sandwich and he told me that they had it at HRC. He was craving for a Reuben sandwich and I found out that Seah Street Deli has it. So our plan was to share each sandwich at these 2 places.

Oh my, I can't believe the last time I was at HRC, it was probably 15 years ago. I would say the decor is still the same. However, I was surprised indeed. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. It was filled with mostly tourists and family with little children. Our dish came and oh my, it was heavenly. Now, I'm satisfied.

We went to Tanglin Shopping Centre to check out this other deli Steeple's, that served Reuben. Alas it was closed on Sunday. So we decided to go to Raffles Hotel in the end. We met up with Travis, Muy Caliente's friend who's here in town for business.

We went to the Long Bar for a drink. It was packed with tourists and I think I was the only local in the bar. LOL! They both ordered, what else but, the Singapore sling. I ordered a mojito. We talked for a while before I had to rush off for my run at Bedok Reservoir. The Reuben just got to wait.

I managed to find my way to the Reservoir without getting lost and I was on time. Yes! The group was about 8 of us. It took me about 27 minutes to finish running the perimeter, which was about 4.3km. I slowed down a little at the end but I didn't stop, which was good.

So, here I am, writing this but ready to call it a day. I'm totally pooped.

27 mins to cover 4.3 km is quite decent, you shd try for the 8.5km. Duno if you can still register though coz it's limited to 1600 runners.
