Hot in the City

This is about the life of Miss Mo, a 30-something gal who recently moved back to Singapore from the US.

Back at Duxton Hill again

Last Friday, Miss Mo, Cooking Diva and Musa went out for some fine dining at The universal .

The Universal is located on Duxton Hill, right across from Broth, the restaurant which I also recommend. That stretch of Duxton Hill is traffic-free and is quiet too. Picture Emerald hill sans people.

The first floor of the restaurant is actually a wine bar. Since Musa and I had to wait for Cooking Diva, we had a drink downstairs. We then proceeded upstairs to the dining area. At the front, there are 4 tables and we discovered a few more tables at the back of the building.

I ordered the set dinner ($65+++), which is not a bad deal. My soup was the cauliflower/mushroom cream soup. Delicious! My entree was braised veal cheek and my dessert was a chocolate fondant. Maybe my description of the dishes are not too accurate but the idea is there. LOL! Cooking Diva had the cod as the entree and a very successful souffle. Musa had her usual beef tenderloin.

The bread was homemade too and Musa had at least 4 pieces of them. Awesome bread. I had a NZ Chardonnay, which was pretty decent too.

It's a bit quiet on that stretch but it's a good place to chill with some friends.
